Dear Santa

It’s only 39 days till Christmas! 39 days!

The preparations have begun, the tree is ready for collection, I’ve started Christmas shopping and the Christmas Day Menu is in the making! Organisation is key at this time of year (and probably the reason I’m so obsessed with it) so I thought I’d put together a little “dear santa” Christmas list for some handy essential ideas that may have been missing off your Christmas lists this year. Or you may be struggling for ideas for friends or family members (don’t worry, we’re all in the same boat!).

1 // These Hunter Regent Aspley boots have stolen my country girl heart. They are practical and ooze style. Wendy at Thank Fifi has recently been styling the Hunter Regent Clarence boots which are just beautiful and equestrian, but there’s something about these Aspley boots that are traditional wellies meet “I can get away with wearing these every day” boots. I love that.

2 // The practicality of a mac is an undeniable feat of all coats in existence. Whether you’re wearing the real deal (and frankly way out of my budget) Burberry Mac or this Uniqlo woolen mac, you’re going to feel snug as a bug.

3 // Ever since I received a sample of the Vitamin E everyday moisturiser in last months GlossyBox, I’ve been smitten by the way it makes my skin feel. My only criticism was that the cream itself is quiet thin. Loan-behold… they have an intense version of the same cream for dry skin. Dry skin saviour!

4 // Another of my GlossyBox beauty finds is the French brand Yves Rocher. Their “Sexy Pulp” mascara is by far the best mascara I have ever used and is perfect if you have sensitive eyes.

5 // My hair is boring. I have had the same colour now for a few years and have never really experimented with different hair styles. I guess you just know what suit you, right? Anyway, I’ve fallen head over curly hair heels recently and after spotting these Remington Keratin Curling Tongs, I’ve wanted very little else for my hair. Keratin is a big deal at the moment, along with other oils and balms which claim to make your hair feel incredible. I certainly cannot wait to see what affect these have on my locks.

6 // The leather bag. A woman’s sidekick.

7 // I often get criticised for still using a paper diary (especially at work). In fact, I have 2 paper diary’s; one for work and one for “life”. For me, there is nothing classier and more convenient than flicking through lovely crisp diary pages and being able to see clearly where you are and what you’re doing. I love Filofax and this is the perfect partner for the leather bag.

8 // The “wrap bracelet” is one of my favourite trends this year. Along with a chunky watch and some intricate bracelets, these leather belt looking accessories can add a splash of colour to any outfit and you’ll be rocking some serious arm-swag. This Ashley Clarke Triple Wrap bracelet is sophisticated and simple.

9 // A personal must have for me this year is a jewellery box. Cream leather that says luxury.

The weather has been unexpectedly good so far this week so I’ve been having a bit of a clear out of my make-up and various cosmetic items. I think its good have a bit of a reshuffle every now and again, I always end up discovering something in those dark deep drawers that I didn’t know I owned, bonus.

It got me thinking though, there really are only a few staple items that I use on a daily basis that if I was stuck on a dessert island, I probably couldn’t live without.

1. Calvin Klein Euphoria has always been my scent and always will as far as I’m concerned. I think it’s got something to do with teenage memories, it was the first perfume I ever owned and it reminds me so much of my youth. Maybe I just want to smell like I’m 16 again! You can see Lara Stone in their glamorous new ad here.

2. I have always found it hard matching blushers with my skin tone until a little goody arrived in my GlossyBox back in May which changed everything. BM Beauty is a range created by Kimberly from the Pussy Cat Dolls (not a range I would normally go for admittedly) but this bronzer works an absolute treat. You need a minimal amount for a gorgeous affect, and I use it daily as a blusher. If you have olive skin and rely on bronzer I would definitely recommend giving this a go.

3. Another little find from the May GlossyBox, Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp mascara. I hadnt heard of Yves Rocher before, but after checking out their website they claim to be the leading make-up brand in France. Now I would do anything to have that Parisian flawless skin any day! They are an extremely ethical brand and it shows in the quality of their products. The shape of the brush and the lasting effect of the mascara is like nothing I have tried before. My mascara usually wears towards the end of the day and I get horrible black smears under my eyes, but this mascara eliminated that problem.

4. Batiste. My all time favourite hair product. Possibly the best invention since sliced bread? The Queen should be honouring this inventor, in fact they deserve a nighthood. Batiste is the most diverse and wonderful product I have ever used on my hair. If you’re like me a struggle with greasy hair after a few days, this is the solution.

5. I’m as obsessed as ever with Shellac polishes. The long lasting wear, the strengthening of your nails and the overall look is second to none in my opinion. I’ll loving the Hot Pot Pink this week.
