A south-westerner by traits, I’m Becca, the southerner. I grew up in a small village in the west country (traitor I know) and now live on the south coast of England. Monday to Friday you’ll find me in Bournemouth working as an Office Manager. Blogging is my journal of life’s adventures and a place for me to share the little things I love. So if you fancy getting to know me a little more, maybe these will help?…
What camera do you use for pictures on the blog?
I use my absolutely beloved Canon PowerShot G12. It ticks every single snap happy box. I love everything about this camera, from its size and weight to the amazing picture effects at the touch of a button. I adore my tanned leather case too which is still available on Ebay here. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll also know I’m a huge fan of iPhone photos too.
Update. My Canon G12 was fatally injured whilst on holiday in France. In February 2013, I made the change to the Lumix GF5 and so far so good!
I’m a company and would like to get in touch.
I love to receive feedback from readers so please send me an email if you want to get in touch with a question. You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also ask me any question you like via Twitter. If you’re not already following me, you can do so here!
What do you do?
I’ve been working as an office manager for 2 years now in the recruitment industry. My background however (yawn) is finance, and I still work in an accountancy practice one day a week preparing payrolls for clients.
Why did you start blogging?
Blogging allows me to do something I love, be creative. Unfortunately in finance, creativity is pretty limited to making your spreadsheet look pretty, so for me blogging is something that allows me to unleash my love for photography, graphics and of course the big wide internet world of social media. I read a whole variety of different blogs everyday (thanks to Bloglovin) and I love trying new things from people idea’s they have posted on their blogs. I guess I was inspired to do the same thing with my ideas and travels.
Why should I visit the south coast?
In my very humble opinion, the south coast holds something special for everyone. From the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, to the tiny coastal pub villages in Devon and the windy roads and castles hidden in Cornwall, every place you visit holds its very own beautiful story and adventure. Bournemouth is a great town for people who love to party and spend the next day hanging out in the glorious sunshine usually found on Bournemouth beach. But this isn’t what sells it for me. Sometimes what is hidden beneath all of this is something more mesmerising, and this is what I found. Surrounded by miles and miles of beautiful coastline and ancient history, there is never a dull moment. If you are paying the south coast a visit and want any hints or tips on where to visit, please ping me an email or tweet me. Alternatively check out my Southerner’s pin board.
How did you design your blog?
I use the Hustle WordPress theme and built and customised from there. Every time I need to change the size of my text or write some code, I just use my trusty guide (google) and take it from there. If I’m ever realllly stuck on something, my boyfriend just happens to be a website designer too.
